Paul Ibsen is the former Assistant Head of School for Finance and Management at Providence Day School in Charlotte, NC. Paul has over 23 years of experience working with independent schools. Prior to his career in academia and insurance, he served 13 years active duty as an officer and helicopter pilot in the Coast Guard and 13 years in the reserves, retiring as Captain. Paul was a founding member of NBOA where he served on the board as treasurer and on two strategic planning committees. He has served on the board of MISBO and on the MISBO Insurance Committee, and he served as Chair of the Association of Business Officers of Independent Schools (ABOIS). Paul was on the Student Financial Aid Services Committee and on the faculty of the Financing Schools Institute of NAIS, and he was the 2011 recipient of the NBOA Distinguished Business Officer Award.
